About James
Located in Los Angeles, CA, James Townsend has always been known as the "friend with the camera" just about everywhere he has gone. Throughout the years, taking pictures was basically something just done for fun. However, once he started modeling himself back in 2001, a new interest in photography altogether was sparked within him. Taking pointers from several well-known photographers he had worked within conducting his own shoots as a model, and experimenting with whatever camera he could lay his hands on, James eventually started to put himself behind the lens as a photographer as well. Since then, he has gone on to shoot a variety of projects that range from the typical headshots and portfolio shots to photographing nightclub promotional materials, artistic images and everything in between. James' work has been featured on several websites, magazines, calendars and more!
In addition, James has always possessed a fascination with performing arts and movies in general. In recognition, he started his own independent film company in 2003 called In The Pink Productions. The company specializes in the production of low-budget gay-themed films from a variety of genres and has released a number of bestselling titles, including the mystery/romance, "Sideline Secrets" which James also starred in as well. Rates/Booking:
James is willing to shoot anything you may be interested in and/or need to have photographed. Whether it be headshots, pictures for modeling portfolios, event coverage, artistic nude, or simply trying out an idea you have come up with, there are very few limitations.
James is a freelance photographer and rates vary based on individual needs, unless otherwise noted during advertised specials.

When booking a shoot, a 25% non-refundable retainer is put towards the shoot at least a week before the photo shoot by mailing a money order, paying in person, or via PayPal. This confirms your appointment by securing reserved scheduled time, crew and other necessary attributes. This upfront fee is only refundable with a three (3) day cancellation/reschedule notification.
TFP (time for print):
TFP (time for print) shoots will only be considered if you fit a particular project's needs. You may learn about these opportunities by periodically viewing the "projects" page

JTownsendPhotos, is seeking male models in the Los Angeles area to take part in a new underwear photo-book project. Still untitled, the book features male models in their favorite pair of underwear as they take part in a daily activity, hobby of interest, fantasy, etc. Whatever your enjoy doing-- do it! Be creative and have fun showing off those undies... Past examples have been playing sports, shopping, body painting and much more!
